V.T.A. held its convention and outdoor show on
July 18, 19, and 20 at the Page County Fairgrounds in Luray, Virginia.
There were lots of vendors with the up to date trapping supplies, and
plenty of scents. Seminars on today techniques where giving by experts in
the field for trapping different type of critters. Having never attended
one these shows before, it seems that the heat didn't stop the loyal
trapper from showing up and taking part in event.
The Central Virginia Chapter set up a booth to talk turkey. We spoke to
lot of people who have and still enjoy the spring or fall battle with our
feathered friends. I am interested in coyote hunting and learning the
techniques of calling a coyote into shotgun range. As I walked around the
fairgrounds, I could tell there is a lot of equipment need for trapping. I
even think I saw a trap big enough to catch BIGFOOT…hmmmm. I'd rather
call him in.
I wasn't sure what to take with me to a trapper show, so for next year
we plan on setting up a booth and doing a seminar on turkey hunting, and
sportsmanship in the outdoors.
I want to thank Ed Crebbs for inviting us to participate in the
V.T.A. Convention and Outdoor Show. We certainly enjoyed ourselves.
