My young hunting partner had a
great time Saturday. A skunk met us as we walked slowly down the wood
road. After some yelps, cuts, and purr the woods were silent; only song
bird sounds filled the woods. I made couple crow calls with no luck. Kenny
asked me if I could do any other calls on the crow caller, so for laughs
and giggles, I did a duck call with the crow caller… Then GOBBLE GOBBLE
GOBBLE about 75 yards away. We sat down quickly. The gobbler was answering
my soft yelps, and clucks. We had a hunter come off the property and
joined us and spooked off the bird. That's just hunting. Kenny enjoyed his
morning out by seeing a skunk, few deer, and even a hen bird came in to
the calls; plus Kenny was the first passenger in the chapter club car.
Maybe next time Kenny that bird will rest on your shoulder has we exit the
woods. |
